The XL Multiphase RDU system allows for manual overide of XL Multiphase controlled pike signal Units from one central radio linked hand controller.

General

A must for any operative controlling lights manually. The Pike RDU provides simple, clear and safe manual operation from one handheld device. Affords the operator greater safety away from the flow of traffic. Cable-less radio technology enables quick set up time with an easy to operate control panel. Once established the linked relationship between the RDU and XLMultiphase controller is maintained as long as the XLMultiphase controller is powered on. When the RDU is not required it can be switched off to conserve battery power. When re-powered the RDU link’s instantly with the XLMultiphase to enable continued operation.

Construction

Designed with the contractor in mind the rugged weatherproof enclosure with IP65 rated buttons, self enclosed unit with integral battery pack providing long operational life, that will recharge from vehicle or normal mains supply. Unit will operate none stop for up to 16 hours from a single charge.

Operation

The RDU handheld controller allows the user to monitor and manually control the key aspects of XLMultiphase operation from a distance of up to 500 meters via radio link. A Particular application would be convoy operation.

Safety Features

As with all Pike equipment the RDU has several integral safety features, such as Mimic displays, Battery, Status and Call Red indicators. Lock out features ensure that control takes place when and where required, once in operation the RDU overrides all input from the master controller. Control cannot resume at the master controller until the RDU is disengaged from the system.
